HeartCode® PALS Online is the American Heart Association’s online cognitive portion of the PALS blended learning course.
Please note: a separate hands-on PALS skills session is required to receive your official AHA PALS Provider eCard.
Our Process

Enroll in the PALS Course
Register online and choose a convenient location and appointment time for your self-guided skills session.

Complete Online Learning
Finish the required online PALS cognitive course at your own pace on any compatible device before your appointment.

Complete Self-Guided Skills
Attend your scheduled CPR Verification Station™ session and complete required pediatric skills and megacode testing independently with guided real-time feedback.

Receive Your PALS eCard
After successful completion of all required course components, your official American Heart Association PALS Provider eCard is issued electronically.

When do I receive my PALS eCard?
Your official American Heart Association PALS Provider eCard is typically issued the same day after successful completion of all course requirements.
Is this the same certification as an instructor-led class?
Yes. You receive the same American Heart Association PALS Provider eCard as students who complete a traditional classroom course.
Can first-time students take this format?
Yes. This course is designed for both initial students and renewals.
How long does the course take?
The online portion typically takes 2–6 hours. The in-person skills session usually takes 30–60 minutes.
Do I need to complete the online portion first?
Yes. The online learning must be completed before attending your hands-on skills session.
